Why aren't you certified yet? I mean, it's factual at this point that you are in the IQ range you claim. Of course, you may just not care. I can respect that.

I don't much care. I know what my IQ is. What does being "certified" prove?

Have you ever thought that we might be from a different species altogether and that's why society doesn't work for as, simply as that? We might be part of a long lost strand of humans that aimed to have a coherent society, not the madness that currently is.
      1. marom
        marom
No - check history - it's always been madness - always ... I don't think that we are set that far apart from the rest of humanity. Except for the brief Pax Romana, I don't think that there has been a period of more than 200 years of relative peace and prosperity in the whole of human history. Instead, it's been bloody warfare and internecine squabbling.

You forget one thing, hope, maybe there is something missing; as long as any of us believes in that, those 200 years of peace, could become something better.

This maddness was also contrived by our "species", perhaps? History might be nothing more than a trail of corpses left behind because of the dreams of the gifted.

@L.E. "Wouldn't one assume they have some sort of predilection for math, though?"

Obviously the "ogre" in @mathogre was a slight typo of "hog." :)

The answer isn't really relevant to my dilemma, but - @mathogre, what does your name mean?

mathogre means two things. One is that it's part of an anagram of my full real name, the complete anagram being Evil Math Ogre Kgh Ra. The other is that I'm actually a mathematician (mathemagician, actually ;) ).

Seeing as you are somewhat of a culinary person, I want to ask; how do you make soggy food crispy again? I would ask chef, but I imagine that he wouldn't care to respond to a lowly 120+, such as myself, and his equally moronic question.

That depends on what the food is! Sometimes a good blast in the microwave will do it - or an over-fry in a frying pan. Crispy food is caused by dehydration. So, whatever you can do to get water out of it will firm it up. But, often, you can ruin the food, too. You've got to be careful.

People usually underestimate me, I want to make my job a better place, but they don't want to lend me more power to control them.

Well, in my experience, idealism is not a good idea for the workplace. Most workplaces have rather a sloppy dynamic that - if considered carefully - does work - if inefficiently ... People are political animals when it comes down to it, and they don't like having their toes stepped on. There are all sorts of power structures in place in a work environment. Changes threaten those. You have to be careful!

Did you mean to say "ex tua sententia"? 'Aliquid' doesn't make sense in this context and I can't think of any other grammatical form of it appropriate for what you appeared to be trying to express.

Well, I taught myself to read Latin fairly well - but writing in Latin is not the same ... "Everything depends on something" is what I thought I was saying. And that is my motto. Nothing but nothing is free-standing.
